Chapter 15- Remembering

Give an example of a way the alliance with Rue is a boon(<- look!) to Katniss. Explain. Give an example of a disadvantage of the alliance. Explain.

5 comments:

  1. Boon: Rue knows about spying and can be silent and help keep watch over other tributes.
Disadvantage: In the end, either Rue or Katniss will have to die. Forming an alliance will keep them from killing each other but when one loses the other, it will hurt and momentarily distract them so they can not fight off who ever comes for them.

  3. Katniss was thankful to have Rue as a partner because Rue knew about plants, could watch her back, and was company. Katniss was lonely in the arena and I think Rue's companionship was the most beneficial thing Rue brought to the alliance. Rue was a disadvantage because she was another person to keep alive. She was also a disadvantage because it would only make it harder when it came to killing each other to have been friends before.

  4. Katniss and Prim's relationship was a very close one, and I think that Rue was a stand in for Prim during the games. Rue was someone for Katniss to take care of, and Katniss had been doing that her entire life. Like Caroline said, the biggest advantage Rue brought was her company to Katniss. Rue, however, brought back the caring side of Katniss. Katniss needed to feel nothing during these games to succeed, but Rue helped Katniss foster feelings of friendship.

  5. The Alliance with Rue is a good thing because Rue knows about edible plants and is a very good spy. Rue can help Katniss by finding food and sharing the nightly watch with Katniss. The alliance is not a good Idea because If Katniss And Rue are the only ones left they will have to turn on each other. Also it gives Katniss another person to feed and keep alive.
