Chapter 22 - Creating

Imagine you are a game maker. Invent a scenario that would put Katniss and Peeta in serious danger in order to please the viewers.

  1. Katniss and Peeta are in their pretty little cave. I, as a gamemaker create a rockfall and/or earthquake to scare them out. The earthquake destroys the cave and forces them to find somewhere else to hide. Possible effects include: loss of life, loss of limb, loss of supplies, minor injury, dramatic dooda including "leave me behind!!" as one or the other is stuck in the rocks dying.

  2. When Katniss and Peeta find that the gamemakers wanted to move them to the lake, instead of making it dry, I would have flooded the entire arena except for a little patch. All would be forced to the center or they would drown. If you climbed a tree, you could be forced down out of thirst or hunger or you would fall or die. Anyone to make it to the center would have to fight to the death.

  3. Cool question, Chloe. I have always been a fan of quick sand. As a game maker, I would place quick sand where Peeta can potentially be trapped. If Peeta goes down, Katniss can be relied on to save him. It would be dramatic and dangerous.

  4. I am always game for a good rous (rodent of unusual size). A good sized herd of these beasts could scare Katniss and Peeta from their cave and force Katniss to get Peeta to safety. If they are genetically mutated, rouses could also climb trees. With their large teeth and cring factor, that would be a dramatic way to see Katniss in quite the predicament. Not to mention Peeta - would Katniss try to save him or run?

  5. Go The Princess Bride! We might as well make the entire fire swamp.

  6. Yes. I sense some great text to film connections here! Quicksand, rouses, maybe some screaming eels as well. That would take them out - can you imagine?
