If I were Peeta, I would feel immense guilt. Peeta has tied Katniss down with his injury, and Katniss has been kind and generous toward him in sharing her food and company. If I were Katniss, I would feel frustrated, but I would not show it because the crowd needs to think that Katniss and Peeta are madly in love. I think that the animals being scared away is a symbol. In running away from Katniss, they represent the things she cannot have while she is in the arena, one of those things being freedom. Peeta has kindly kept Katniss from going out and fighting, and Katniss resents him, if only subconciously, for doing that.
If I were in Peeta's and Katniss' situations, I would always be concious of what the cameras were picking up and what the other person was thinking. If I were Peeta, I would feel regretful toward the situation and try to make up for my clumsiness by being extremely lovable. If I were Katniss, I would anger, but I would channel it toward the other tributes and the game I was hunting. I like your comment about symbolism, Chloe.
If I were Peeta, I would think that Katniss was overreacting a little bit because of course I would think I was being quiet. I would be slightly aggravated that I had to take off my shoes but of course, it's all for the best. If I were Katniss, I would be very annoyed with Peeta but I would remember that I had to pretend to love him so I couldn't be to nasty. I would feel a little nervous that someone that we didn't want might hear us.
If I was Peeta, I would feel pretty horrible knowing that I was impeding our food-gathering progress. I might be a little mad at Katniss for being so strict and demanding. Having never really been out in the woods for extended periods of time(like Katniss) I would undoubtedly be a bit scared. If i was Katniss I would be rather pissed at Peeta because he was tromping around and frighting away all the game which could be potential food we would need to survive.
